After almost four years on Marian Central’s Varsity Boys Basketball team, coaches are anticipating a great season from point-guard Adam Pischke (12). Pischke started out his basketball career at the age of four, he grew up with a basketball hoop in his yard and fell in love with the game. His first team was a recreational league and his career has grown remarkably since then.

From fifth through eighth grade, Pischke played for his elementary school, SS. Peter and Paul. While playing for SS. Peter and Paul he also played for the Junior Canes, the feeder team for Marian. The Junior Canes prepared him for the competition he would see in high school. Pischke stated “I really like playing basketball because it helps me get my mind off of everything. I can just be myself on the court”. He also enjoys being able play with his teammates.

During his time at Marian, he has excelled as a player. Pischke played 25 games at the Varsity level his freshman year, and during the season, he scored a total of 50 points. Coaches, teammates, and opponents knew that there was more to come from him. Pischke’s sophomore season would be a successful one for him; in just 34 games, 539 points were scored by him. Pischke’s sophomore year was his best scoring year. During this incredible season the Hurricanes won the regional championship, which is one of his favorite memories as a Cane. Scoring a total of 528 points in just 28 games, Pischke’s junior year was yet another outstanding season. As Pischke’s final season of being a Cane is just around the corner, he is looking forward to playing with his friends and for Coach Price and getting a final opportunity to represent his school.
Pischke’s dedication as an athlete has greatly helped him succeed. He practices everyday in the off-season in addition to practicing with the Canes during the regular season. Pischke has impacted the basketball program at Marian Central in a positive way. Everyone is excited to see what Pischke does in his final season as a Cane.
