Julia Jenkner (11) celebrating her Holiday Spirit (Photo Credit: Paige Tarzian)

Every December 26th, Julia Jenkner (11) begins her year long count down until the next Christmas. Throughout the entire year, her Christmas spirit is lives on, but it truly comes out once December hits. “I try to bring the Christmas spirit to Marian by bringing trees into some of my teachers classrooms, hanging out candy canes occasionally, putting Christmas lights on my backpack, and constantly reminding people how many days are until Christmas,” says Julia.

While others plan for other holidays, Julia always has Christmas on her mind, which is just reason some people call her ‘Jolly Julia’. And she’s not the only one in her family with an intense love for Christmas either. Julia’s family has an astounding twelve Christmas trees. “Two real trees and ten fake trees. All of them are between 5 feet and 12 feet tall. I love getting to decorate each one with my family and each one has a different ‘theme’,” Julia explains about her Christmas trees.  And with all the holiday festivity at home, Julia hopes that it can carry into Marian during the month of December. The holidays are truly a great time to come together with both friends and family, a trait that is well portrayed in Marian. Julia says that; “I think Marian should get into the Christmas spirit in December because I think it’s a really great time of the year to get together with your friends and family and celebrate the holiday more and start new traditions in the school.”
