Marian Welcomes the Class of 2021!

The gyms and cafeteria were full of activities to help the incoming and current students have fun and learn about Marian at Freshman and Eighth Grade Activity Night on February 4. There was jousting, “mega jenga”, and RC cars in the main gym, with volleyball and basketball in the auxiliary gym. The cafeteria was transformed into a dance floor complete with a DJ. There was even a table giving out raffle prizes every half hour.

Everything was organized and run by the Marian mentors. “I’ve had an amazing four years at Marian, and it all started here”, said Patrick Struttman, a senior mentor volunteering.

At first, it was clear that everyone was a little nervous, but with the help of the mentors, games, and sugar, soon everyone was having a great time. “I didn’t get the chance to come to this as an eighth grader, but I wish I did. I really think all incoming students should try to come,” stated freshman Ryan Jones.

Mentors and freshmen were eager to answer any questions that the eighth graders had regarding Marian, or high school in general. “I was a little nervous before coming tonight, but now I’m just excited for next year! I think I want to join Key club.” said Saints Peter and Paul eighth grader Ava Palminteri.

“We already know a lot of the people here, but it’s still a good time, and it’s fun to hang out where we’ll be going to school next year.” said a group of Saint Margaret Mary students. The next four years are looking good for the class of 2021!
