Adding Up To Success

Kennidy Giles, Crown Staff

Does solving equations and finding what “x” equals sound fun and exciting? Then the math club is the place for you. Marian’s math club consists of all levels of students and is open to anyone who would like to join. Also,  students who need help with math are welcome to stop by the math club to receive some help. The club meets every Monday to go through practice problems and help each other with difficult concepts.

Several members of the club also compete in competitions a few times throughout the year. Senior Jake Fieldler, the captain of this team, explains that the competitions are “full of challenging questions that make you really think.” These competitions consist of different questions that are not seen in average math classes. During the competition, students are split up by grade levels so each grade gets a different topic, ranging from Algebra 1 to Pre-Calculus. There is a varied mix of students from all grade levels that are involved in Marian’s math team, and they make up a strong team altogether.

The Marian Central math team is open for anyone who would like to join for next season. For less competitive lovers of math, the club is a great way to hang out with friends and gain knowledge in different levels of math. Even for those who struggle with the subject, the door is always open to them for help with their math courses.
