The past three years have included themes such as Anchors Aweigh, Four Seasons, and Circus Fun. Every year students get excited about the Homecoming theme.  Everyone enjoys getting ready to prepare crazy costumes as they wait until the theme is finally revealed. This year it is Disney, and the ideas range from the Magic Kingdom to Epcot, and all the way to Hollywood Studios. Now it is time to explore everything that Disney has to offer inside Marian’s World of Disney.

Throughout the week there were certain days highlighting the theme: favorite Disney character, dress like your class hallway, babies and oldies, Disney throwback day, and spirit dress down day. These are the days that the school comes to life. Students’ imaginations run wild for the possibilities of how they will dress up for these days. In the morning, for each of the five days, students showed up to get their costumes judged to win points for their class. This is where the real spirit of the week is shown by the students coming together and having fun. The costumes could range from homemade to store bought or even a mix of both. One student, however, showed his spirit for the favorite Disney character day. Ben Keller(12) dressed as the iconic villain from The Incredibles, Syndrome. “The theme was great, and my last homecoming week was super fun. I had a great time with all my friends, and we shared some good laughs. My mom helped me make the Syndrome costume, and I had fun putting a smile on everyone’s faces. ” Keller(12) was just one of many students that expressed their spirit on their final homecoming and enjoyed the memories they made as seniors.

The week was filled with fun and the magic of Mickey and Minnie which ran through the school and helped everyone get ready for the much-awaited the dance on Saturday. Disney heroes and even villains roamed the halls, and they found the good spirit and joy in the week that is all about fun and spending time with their classmates. For the freshman, this is their first homecoming experience, but for others, it is their final week.  Alyssa Sutherland(12) said,” It was my last homecoming week, so I went all out and made it worth a memory.” With a theme like Disney, there was something for everyone, the young and the old, the new students and the returning ones, allowing everyone to have a great week at the Magical World of Marian.
